Vacuum screw range STRATOS The design of screw vacuum pump STRATOS
is simple and proven: Two parallel screw rotors rotate against each other inside the pump housing. The process gas is closed in inside the pump and is compresses by the rotation of the rotors in outlet direction. At conventional screw designs the gradient of the screw rotors is linear. The STRATOS uses a different screw technique: The gradient of the screws is progressive. This provides some interesting advantages e.g. low compressing temperatures and remarkable savings of shaft power. Of course the STRATOS keeps its other basic features with this new design. It still compresses in one stage without intermediate cooling device. High vapour- and liquid tolerance, long duration of life and simple maintenance are the main advantages of this design principle.
The materials
The following materials are used for the STRATOS design: Housing and screw rotors withshafts consist of GGG-50. The dynamic seals: double lip-seal at the suction side, at the pressure side single operation glide ring seal. Shaft seal to drive side: single operating glide ring seal. The static seals: Viton optional, for special applications PTFE . Coatings for screws and internal casing: NIFA, PTFE.
Application details
The STRATOS pumps are designed for multiple applications. Especially suited for industrial use, where clean and oil free vacuum is needed. High ultimate vacuum and the possible permanent operation predestine them for chemical and pharmaceutical production processes as well as industrial applications.
Contact-free operation
Due to the contact-free operating principle of the screw rotors, lubrication is not required in the pumping chamber of the STRATOS range. The main benefits are : no costs for the waste disposal of contaminated oil or water, in comparison to oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps or liquid ring vacuum pumps. No process contamination and more importantly, no environmental pollution. High vapour and liquid tolerance, long up-times and easy maintenance are main features of the dry screw type pumps. Like the STRATOS range, the VSI range has got a progressive screw pitch design, synchronized by gearing.
The machines of the STRATOS range are equipped with a standard three-phase motor. All gears are oil lubricated by a flinger. No maintenance between the recommended oil changing intervals is necessary.
